Indiana Pacers Fans Chant ‘John Wall Hates You’ at Kelly Oubre

The Indiana Pacers fans don’t miss on an opportunity to troll John Wall and the Washington Wizards. Not even former teammates of Wall are immune, as Phoenix Suns forward Kelly Oubre was reminded Tuesday night.

While Oubre was at the free throw line, the Indiana crowd serenaded him with “John Wall Hates You” chants.

Oubre, who is a 77.6 percent free throw shooter through his career, missed both free throws of the initial chant.

The chant may have originated in Atlanta, but Indiana has mastered it. Last month, the Bankers Life Fieldhouse crowd chanted “John Wall Hates You” first at Bradley Beal then at the entire team at every free throw attempt with Wall sitting on the bench out due to a heel injury. Oubre was included then, before he was traded to the Suns for Trevor Ariza. The chant carried over into Tuesday night.

It stems from the reported issues of the Wizards over the past two seasons. In 2016, Wall admitted he and Beal didn’t always get along and that opened the floodgates for speculation and reports. Then this season, an incident at practice between Wall and head coach Scott Brooks help spin off more speculation of dissension within the team.

Rumors of possible trades involving Wall and Beal only fueled the firestorm. And as the Wizards’ struggled the chants were born.

Initially, it appeared to be a epidemic of the Washington Wizards team. Now, it’s an epidemic of anyone associated with Wall and the Wizards.
