Jamison Crowder will have a new team. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Crowder has agreed to a three-year deal with the New York Jets worth $28.5 million with $17 million fully guaranteed at signing.

Crowder was fourth-round pick of the Washington Redskins in the 2015 NFL Draft. Crowder showed great durability in his first three seasons with the Redskins, missing just one game.

He had averaged 64 catches for 746 yards in the first three seasons with a career-high seven touchdowns in 2016 primarily with Kirk Cousins as his quarterback. However, in 2018 he had a setback season.

He missed seven games with an ankle injury and his production suffered as the Redskins went through a carousel at quarterback between Alex Smith, Colt McCoy, Mark Sanchez, and Josh Johnson. Crowder finished with 29 receptions for 388 yards and two touchdowns on the season.

He finishes with 221 receptions, 2,628 yards, and 14 receiving touchdowns in 56 games with the Redskins.

Crowder’s production over the course of his career landed him a marketable deal with the Jets. One that may have been too steep for the cap-strapped Redskins. Now the former Duke product will get to be top target for Jets young quarterback Sam Darnold.

Meanwhile for the Redskins, they’ll likely turn to last year’s seventh-round pick Trey Quinn to replace Crowder. Quinn showed promise in training camp and preseason but was limited to three games due to an ankle injury that landed him on IR in Week 1 and then season-ending IR in Week 12.
