Grant Paulsen of 106.7 the Fan had reported that sources have told him Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder had “taken over the first round of the draft.”

However, the Redskins quickly denied the report. Paulsen shared the denial from team spokesman Tony Wyllie.

Of course, as with Paulsen’s report, Wyllie’s response can be taken out of with a grain of salt. It’s anyone’s guess where the truth lies, especially at this time of year, just a day away from the start of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Reports have surfaced all over the place, and will continue to do so until the draft actually occurs. In just the last couple of hours, the Redskins have reportedly moved on from Arizona Cardinals QB Josh Rosen, who they had been long rumored to. They are targeting former Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins. Meanwhile, they are looking to trade into the top-5 of the first-round presumably for a quarterback, as they currently hold the No. 15 pick overall.

The Redskins also have been linked to wanting to trade up for former Duke QB Daniel Jones.

The Redskins do need a long-term solution at quarterback. Whether or not they are going at all cost to find the solution in the first-round and whether or not Snyder is the head man in that decision remains to be seen.
