Bruno Fernando is officially turning pro, as the Maryland center announced Wednesday he is staying in the NBA Draft and forgoing his college eligibility.

Fernando spent two seasons with Maryland, playing in a total of 64 games in his time there. Last season, he averaged 13.6 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks. He also shot 60.7 percent from the field, including 30.0 percent from three.

Fernando is rated as the 28th overall in CBS Sports’ NBA Draft Rankings. He is second among centers only behind Bol Bol of Oregon.

At 6-foot-10 Fernando has exceptional athleticism. He can pass and see the floor well for a center. He is a strong rebounder, and has the potential of becoming a better spacing on the floor as he works on his outside shot.
