Washington Redskins linebacker Reuben Foster was carted off the practice field Monday during the team’s OTA’s with an apparent left knee injury.
According to accounts of the injury, Foster was emotional as trainers attended him. Redskins head coach Jay Gruden and team president Bruce Allen were over with him.
There is no official word on the severity of Foster’s injury, however, the scene does not paint a good picture.
The Redskins claimed Foster off waivers in November days after the San Francisco 49ers waived him following an arrest at a team hotel in Tampa, Florida for domestic violence accusation.
Foster was placed immediately on the commissioner’s exempt list. Charges have since been dropped, and Foster was activated off the exempt list. He was fined but was not suspended.
Entering OTA’s, Foster is expected to start at inside linebacker alongside Shaun Dion Hamilton, however, now he and the Redskins will await word on his injury.
