The Washington Mystics at full strength are one of the deepest teams in the WNBA. However, they’ll be without one of their key contributors for up to a month, as forward Emma Meesseman will be leaving the team to join her native Belgium national team.

Belgium will play in the EuroBasket Championships with pool play beginning Jun. 27 and ending Jun. 30. That’s the earliest Meesseman to return to Washington. However, Belgium finished with a bronze medal in 2017 and fourth-place in 2018.

Meesseman missed all of the 2018 WNBA season and the Mystics’ run to the WNBA Finals for rest. She returned to the Mystics at the start of this season.

In three games, Meesseman is averaging 13.3 points on 65.5% shooting, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.

The Mystics (2-1) will move forward without the talented forward with two of their next three games on the road, starting Friday at the New York Liberty.
