The Washington Wizards are in need of a point guard or two, and hope to re-sign restricted free agent Tomas Satoransky. However, with no deal agreed, the team is exploring other options that include Quinn Cook, according to Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington.

Cook is a DC native, who starred at DeMatha Catholic in Hyattsville, MD before transferring to Oak Hill Academy (VA) for his senior season. He then went on to star at Duke and spent the past two seasons with the Golden State Warriors.

Last season, he appeared in 74 games for the Warriors but was limited to 14.3 minutes per game playing behind the Splash Brothers, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, as well as Andre Iguodala. While his hard numbers of 6.9 points and 1.6 assists per game were nothing to sneeze over, his PER36 stats show a solid outing if given extended playing time with 17.3 points 5.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.

Cook, 26, also is a strong three-point shooter, shooting 41.8% from three throughout his career. At 6-foot-2 he can play with the ball in his hand as well as off the ball, allowing him to mix with Bradley Beal.

Cory Joseph is another reported target of the Wizards.

Joseph, 27, is an eight-year veteran who spent the past two seasons with the Indiana Pacers.

Joseph played 82 games for the Pacers, averaging 6.5 and 3.9 assists in 25.2 minutes per game.

Joseph is more serviceable for depth that can play in long stretches if needed. He isn’t as quiet the shooter as Cook, shooting 32.2 percent from three in 2018-19.

The Wizards extended a qualifying offer to Satoransky, allowing them to match any offer made to him.

The Wizards have agreed to re-sign center Thomas Bryant to a three-year deal worth $25 million. Meanwhile, are allowing Bobby Portis to sign with the New York Knicks on a two-year pact worth $31 million.

Depending on any offers made to Satoransky, the Wizards could survey their options of signing or not signing the talented European.
