John Wall shared a photo of one of his rehab workouts, showing off a ripped physique on Instagram.
The Washington Wizards’ star guard is five months removed from having surgery on his torn Achilles. He has been rehabbing in Miami when he is not in Las Vegas taking on the Summer League action, determined to return to the court back at his old form.
Since Wall started experiencing issues with a heel injury, there has been negative reactions to his game from fans, sports personalities, and journalists. That includes one Stephen A. Smith, whose beef with Wall has been well-documented.
“I peep the energy and I smell the doubt, but I’m going to taste the victory!!” Wall proclaims in his photo caption.
Wall is expected to miss most, if not all, of the next season, as he recovers.
While he may want to return as quickly as possible, the Wizards owner Ted Leonsis prefers the five-time All-Star to a slow approach to help ensure his long-term health.
Washington recently applied for a disabled player exception that if granted would ensure Wall would miss next season entirely.
It’s one picture, but, it’s very telling that John Wall is working hard towards getting his body right and returning to the court at some point to prove his doubters and naysayers wrong.
