Washington Redskins running back Derrius Guice is questionable for the start of training camp after suffering a hamstring injury, according to Erin Hawksworth of 106.7 the Fan.
Guice was set to be monitored going into training camp, so a hamstring injury would at the least just prolong him going full strength in camp.
Still the latest news has to be concerning for the 2018 second-round pick. Guice suffered a torn ACL in last year’s preseason opener. It was later revealed he underwent three additional procedures for an infection after the initial ACL surgery.
After sitting out his rookie season, Guice is eager to get on the field and contribute as one of the Redskins running backs. Hopefully, for him and the team this latest is more of a tweak and not something that is a precursor.
Derrius Guice is expected to join Adrian Peterson and Chris Thompson in the Redskins’ backfield in 2019. Washington also has Bryon Marshall and Samaje Perine and drafted Bryce Love in the fourth-round of this year’s draft while adding undrafted rookie Craig Reynolds.
