Trea Turner tied Alfonso Soriano for the most lead-off home runs in Washington Nationals history.
Turner got a 3-1 fastball in from Peter Lambert, when the shortstop deposited the baseball over the center field wall for a 419-foot home run.
Turner is now batting .282 while slugging .458 with 13 doubles, three triples, and 12 walks to go along with his nine home runs.
With Trea Turner locked in as the Nationals’ lead-off hitter of the future, he is sure to eventually surpass Soriano, who hit all nine of his lead-off home runs in his one season in Washington (2006), for the club’s record.
