A day after sliding safety Troy Apke into another hemisphere, Washington Redskins rookie wide receiver Terry McLaurin claimed another victim. This time it was the cagey veteran Josh Norman.
In one-on-one drills, McLaurin got Norman, who was playing off coverage, to bite hard on his smooth double move. The move put Norman on skates, and McLaurin was able to easily blow by Norman for the catch.
Just like against Apke, McLaurin had created so much distance from Norman he was able to wait on the pass — this time from Case Keenum — before securing the catch with no threat of Norman recovering.
Terry McLaurin is a smooth route-runner. His ability to create separation from defenders is turning heads at training camp.
His movement seems effortlessly, and it’s one of his skill sets that is very astonishing and could carry him a long way into his NFL career.
Don’t feel too sorry for Norman, he came away with his third interception of training camp, picking off Keenum while working against Josh Doctson.
