Trent Williams isn’t expected to end his holdout anytime soon. On the heels of Ian Rapoport’s report that there is “no end in sight” to Williams’ holdout, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora is doubling down on his report earlier this off-season, describing Williams and the Redskins relationship as “totally fractured.”
Williams no longer trusts Redskins president Bruce Allen nor the team’s medical staff. And he has vowed not to play with the Redskins. This is stemming from the left tackle not liking the way the team handled his medical scare with his growth on his scalp.
It appears Washington asked him to wait until the end of the season before addressing the growth, however, Williams ultimately went to a personal doctor and the growth was diagnosed to be pre-cancerous. He endured two surgeries to remove the growth this off-season.
With Rapoport and La Canfora’s reports, it appears the medical situation may outweigh any money dispute.
If so, it’s hard to say any amount of money being able to resolve the matter between Williams and the Redskins.
“We want Trent, but Trent’s got to want us too” a member of the Redskins front office said, according to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington.
