The wrestling world is set to be shaken up when All Elite Wrestling makes its network debut with its first weekly show on TNT Oct. 2. And it will happen in the nation’s capital of Washington, DC at Capital One Arena, the home of the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals.

Tickets go on sale Friday at noon with the prices ranging from $20 to $250.

On the show AEW will crown the company’s first ever women’s champion.

The main event is set to be Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks versus Chris Jericho and two mystery partners.

All Elite Wrestling is the brainchild of Cody Rhodes, the son of wrestling legend Dusty Rhodes. AEW is financially backed by Jacksonville Jaguars principal owner Shahid Khan, while his son Tony serves as the company’s president.

Despite running a couple of shows, the company has a large backing from the wrestling purists. So much so they’re already being considered a viable alternative, if not competitor, to pro wrestling’s giant the World Wrestling Entertainment owned by the legendary Vince McMahon, Jr.

The first-ever AEW champion will be crowned during All Out, a Aug. 31 event between Jericho and the up and coming Adam Page.

But all eyes will be glued on its television debut. TNT, who once aired World Championship Wrestling before the company was sold to McMahon and the WWE, has jumped back into the professional wrestling industry with hopes of bringing in a good ratings and broadening its sports coverage.

Along with Rhodes, his wife, Brandi serves as the Chief Branding Officer. Matt and Nick Jackson (the Young Bucks) and Omega serve as executive vice presidents along with Cody Rhodes.

AEW has signed seemingly the best of the best that is not affiliated with the WWE. And with the Khans’ backing, they have a level of security that other companies such as TNA Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor doesn’t, making them the biggest threat to the WWE since WCW.

DC is a strong wrestling town, having had numerous shows, including television shows, and pay-per-views such as the 2005 WWE Summerslam. Now Capital One Arena will be the site for what is anticipated as an historic moment in pro wrestling.
