Former Redskins safety Su’a Cravens ripped the Washington Redskins through his Twitter account Monday, claiming the team mishandled his medical situation as well withholding information.
At the heart of Cravens’ claims of the Redskins mishandling injuries is the current holdout situation between the team and left tackle Trent Williams.
Williams has not reported to camp and has sought his release or trade or a new deal in response to his disapproval of how the team handled his medical scare of a growth on his scalp. The situation has been well-documented through various reports, and has overshadowed Washington’s training camp in the process.
Cravens added his thoughts of Williams situation while shining light on his struggle with the team in his medical situation from two years ago.
Cravens was a second-round pick of the Redskins in 2016. He appeared in 11 games his rookie season playing as a hybrid linebacker/safety before he was placed on injured reserve towards the end of the season.
That’s where his ugly divorce from the team started. He left the team in September of 2017 shortly after final cuts. He contemplated retirement in the process, and the Redskins placed him on reserve/left team list.
Cravens then applied for reinstatement shortly after receiving medical clearance stemming from post concussion syndrome. Washington traded him to the Denver Broncos, where he still plays, in March of 2018.
By his accounts, Cravens is seeking back pay that was withheld while he was on reserved/left the team list.
