Adrian Peterson is close friends with Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams. Their friendship helped link Peterson to the Redskins last season when the team was desperate for running back depth.

As Williams continues his holdout from the Redskins, Peterson says that there is no changing Williams’ mind once it’s set whether or not he is coming back to Redskins, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

Anderson shared her recent exchange with the Redskins running back about how the team is affected by Williams absence.

Anderson and Peterson’s conversation comes on the heels of a recent Adam Schefter report that the Redskins are not willing to trade Williams, who has reportedly insisted he would not return to the team anytime soon.

How the Williams-Redskins saga plays out could drastically affect how the Redskins’ season goes. While the team seems to be operating like business as usual, it’s obvious the absence of Williams is affecting the offense and most importantly their three quarterbacks — Case Keenum, Colt McCoy, and rookie Dwayne Haskins — whom are vying for the Redskins’ starting QB position.

Adrian Peterson adding he wouldn’t be surprised if Williams comes back or if he doesn’t shows it’s anyone’s guess how this situation ends.
