WATCH: Victor Robles Throws Out Joey Votto at Home by a Mile

Victor Robles may be just 22 years of age, but he is planting seeds to becoming one of the best center fielders in all of Major League Baseball. Monday, the Washington Nationals defensive stud showed why with a cannon of a throw that threw out Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto by a mile.

With the Reds leading 1-0 in the first, Cincinnati’s Josh VanMeter hit a single into center field past the glove of a diving Trea Turner. A charging Robles quickly gathered the ball and fired a cannon of a throw right on line with the catcher, beating Votto easily to home plate for the tag.

That play prevented a run, and ultimately helped the Nationals top the Reds 7-6

Robles picked up his eighth outfield assist which is tops in the National League among center fielders. He already leads all MLB outfielders with outs above average.

Victor Robles has become accustom to making throws and catching all season, solidifying his spot as the franchise center fielder in Washington. It’s safe to say, opponents may not want to keep trying to run on the talented youngster.
