The Washington Redskins have cut down their roster to 53 players, and preparing for their upcoming season opener this week against the Philadelphia Eagles. There is no Trent Williams in sight, their cornerstone left tackle.

Williams has been holding out, skipping mandatory mini-camp, OTAs, and training camp. Reports have led us to believe that Williams is upset over the handling of a medical scare that involved a growth on his scalp that proved to be cancerous.

For much of the summer, the narrative has been painting the Redskins as the bad guys. However, a new development may help steer the narrative in a possible new direction or better yet add to the ongoing saga between Williams and the Redskins.

According to 106.7 the Fan’s Erin Hawksworth, Redskins owner Dan Snyder did more than what’s been led on in reports.

What’s unclear is how deep the situation was when Snyder was made aware of Williams’ situation. By then, could Williams have been upset of the initial staggering by the team’s medical staff?

Keep in mind, reports have pointed to Williams being upset with the medical staff and possibly Bruce Allen. Not much has come out pointing fingers at Snyder directly.

One thing is for sure, Williams is not at Redskins Park. And there appears to be no end in sight of his holdout.
