The Maryland Terrapins jumped out to a 42-13 halftime lead over No. 21 Syracuse. They continued their onslaught in the second half, as running back Javon Leake busted open a 64-yard touchdown run to extend their lead to 49-13.
Maryland’s offense has kept the defense of Syracuse off balance all game. They continued to do so coming out with a three-running back formation, splitting out the other two in a wide formation before quarterback Josh Jackson handed it off to Leake.
Leake exploded through the first two levels off the defense, causing a missed tackle in the process before rumbling the rest of the way untouched.
Syracuse has since answered to cut the deficit to 49-20, but Maryland is well in control for the upset win.
