The Washington Mystics had the last laugh over Liz Cambage and the Las Vegas Aces. The Mystics topped the Aces 94-90 in Game 4 to win their best-of-five WNBA Semifinals series 3-1, advancing to the Finals for the second straight year.
During their postgame celebration, Mystics guard Natasha Cloud appears to troll Cambage by doing pushups near the half court line, as her teammates encouraged her.
Following a Game 3 win, a victorious Cambage said the Mystics need to “get in the weight room” as she boasted about her great shooting night inside.
“I’m the petty one,” Cloud said prior to Game 4 via the Washington Post. “I don’t really get into the trash talk, but when it comes to protecting my teammates and having my teammates’ back, I’m the petty one with the loud mouth.”
And with the series and a trip to the Finals clinched in the very next game, Cloud made sure to be petty.
As the Mystics turn their attention to the Connecticut Sun for a chance to be WNBA champions, this series and the trash talking will be remembered for what is shaping up to be one of the WNBA’s better rivalries.
