All the fuss is about who will be starting Sunday at quarterback for the Washington Redskins. And the immediate future for that matter. Meanwhile, top target and sensational rookie wide receiver Terry McLaurin was limited Thursday in practice.

He is dealing with a hamstring issue.

McLaurin, a third-round pick of the Redskins in this year’s draft, leads the team with 24 targets, 16 receptions, 257 receiving yards, and three touchdowns.

He has blossomed into arguably the biggest steal of the draft. Selected for his special teams abilities, McLaurin is the go-to target for Keenum. He became the first player in NFL history to have at least five receptions and a touchdown in each of his first three games of his career.

McLaurin’s ability to take the top off of defenses and still be able to run precise routes underneath is a special trait. Those traits would be sorely missed if there is any reason he could not take the field Sunday against the Giants.

Brandon Scherff and Chase Roullier Miss Practice Again

Brandon Scherff, the Redskins Pro Bowl right guard, missed his second consecutive day of practice. He has been dealing with an ankle injury he suffered in Monday night’s loss to the Chicago Bears. Not practicing two days in a row is not a good sign towards playing this week.

Center Chase Roullier also missed his second straight day of practice, dealing with a knee injury. Gruden said Wednesday, Washington needed at least one up to play. However, the first two days of the week that notion does not look good to happen.

The Redskins have Tony Bergstrom and rookies Wes Martin and Ross Pierschbacher for depth in event Roullier and/or Scherff could not play. Washington has opted to dress seven offensive linemen in each of the first three games, leaving Martin and Pierschbacher inactive.

If Washington is down any linemen Sunday, at least one is sure to be up.

Tight end Jordan Reed did not practice again Thursday as he remains in the concussion protocol. He has been there since Aug. 22.

Quarterback Case Keenum (foot), cornerback Quinton Dunbar (knee), linebacker Cassanova McKinzy (hip), defensive lineman Jonathan Allen (knee), and quarterback Colt McCoy (fibula) all were full participants in practice.
