The Redskins have reportedly made two roster moves. Washington is waiving wide receiver Robert Davis, according to Ben Standig of the Athletic. They are also releasing cornerback Adonis Alexander from the practice squad, according to ESPN’s John Keim.

This is the second time the Redskins have waived Davis this season. He was released a day before their season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles to make room tight end depth in the wake of Jordan Reed’s concussion.

Davis was signed to the practice squad after he cleared waivers, and later promoted to the 53-man roster. Davis had one catch for 11 yards in Sunday’s loss to the New York Giants, as he played in the absence of rookie wide receiver Terry McLaurin.

Alexander’s release opens up a spot on the practice squad potentially for Davis, if he clears waivers.

Washington selected Alexander in the 2018 supplementary draft, using a sixth-round pick from this year’s draft. Alexander played in nine games recording four tackles as a rookie last year, but was part of the Redskins’ final cuts before the start of this season before landing on the practice squad.
