It’s Code Red in the nation’s capital with the Nationals trailing 3-1 early to the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Wild Card game. So much so, the fire alarm inadvertently went off in the Nationals Park press box.
The alarm system knocked out the public announcer system, leading to some odd moments with no announcement or walk-up music.
The Nationals released an official statement for the mystifying moment.
Maybe someone understood the gravity of the moment, and needed to change the mood at the ballpark. Max Scherzer allowed two home runs in the first innings, to dig Washington an early 3-0 hole.
Since, the 41,506 patrons inside Nationals Park has been tensed and anxious with every pressing moment.
