Former Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon appears to be no fan of former head coach Jay Gruden. Following the firing of Gruden, Garcon said the Redskins need a coach is “accountable,” “stop playing media games” and “win games, talk less” in tweet.
Surely, Garcon was referencing Gruden and his nature towards playing up with the DC media. A prime example was how Gruden avoided naming a starting quarterback for Week 5 against the Patriots. And how he told reporters he had no plan for the week, creating a hoopla among the national media.
But, there also have been concerns of accountability towards the players. Last season former Redskins safety DJ Swearinger was critical of Gruden and the team’s approach at practice.
This is not the first time Garcon chimed against Gruden on Twitter. Ahead of reports that Gruden could have been fired in Week 4, Garcon was ready to talk potential replacements as the Redskins were being blown out against the Giants.
It’s unclear what kind of relationship Gruden and Garcon had when Garcon played with the Redskins, but it’s starting to get clear the wideout is no fan of the former head coach nowadays.
