It’s Friday and the redskins are already down five players. The team released it’s last injury report before heading to Miami to face the Dolphins. Tight ends Vernon Davis and Jordan Reed headline Redskins ruled out for Sunday’s game.
Safety Deshazor Everett, rookie guard Wes Martin, and linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons are also ruled out.
Left tackle Donald Penn is listed as questionable with a hamstring, however, he was a full participant in Friday’s practice.
Both Davis and Reed are in the concussion protocol. For Reed it’s been an ongoing process. He has been out since Aug. 22 when he took a helmet-to-helmet hit in a preseason game against the Falcons. For Davis this will be his second consecutive game missed with a concussion.
Jeremy Sprinkle will start at tight end for the second consecutive game. The Redskins signed Hale Hentges this week to add depth at tight end to go with Jerome Cunningham and Sprinkle.
Everett injured his ankle in Thursday practice. Martin has missed the entire week of practice with a chest injury. Harvey-Clemons has been down all week with a hamstring injury.
In good news, it’s expected that starting center Chase Roullier (knee) and right guard Brandon Scherff (ankle) to return to the starting lineup after both missed the last two games with their respective injuries.
