WATCH: Howie Kendrick Hits 2-Run Double to Extend Nationals Lead to 4-0

While Stephen Strasburg kept the St. Louis Cardinals scoreless through three innings, the Nationals offense picked him up in the third with four runs off Cardinals ace Jack Flaherty. The frame was capped by a Howie Kendrick two-run double to give Washington the four-run lead.

The inning got started with a lead-off single by the returning Victor Robles. Two batters later, Adam Eaton delivered an RBI-single to score Robles.

Then the train continued. Anthony Rendon chopped an RBI-double to score Eaton when left fielder Marcell Ozuna was unable to catch up with the ball.

After Juan Soto battled to draw a walk, Kendrick knocked in Rendon and Soto to cap the four-run inning. All four runs coming with two outs.

Meanwhile, Howie Kendrick, Game 5’s hero in the NLDS, now has eight runs batted in this postseason. That’s Howie do it!

Washington has scored first in all three games of the NLCS, winning Game 1 2-0 and Game 2 3-1. The Nationals are looking to take a commanding 3-0 series lead.
