The Washington Redskins are Case Keenum’s fifth stop in his eight year career. Thursday he will face the team he had his most success with, the Minnesota Vikings.
Keenum guided the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game in 2017, throwing for 3,547 yards and a career-high 22 touchdowns that season. Despite being 11-3 as a starter, the Vikings opted to sign former Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins to a fully guaranteed $84 million contract.
Keenum was cast out and ultimately signed with the Broncos in 2018 before being traded to the Redskins before the 2019 season. He has struggled in each of the last two seasons, and is 7-15 as a starter, including 1-5 with the Redskins this season.
When asked about playing against his former team, the vikings, Keenum had hilarious but brutally honest assessment about himself.
After about the 12th Minnesota question, Keenum says “If I keep going like I’m going then I’m going to be playing against my old team every week!”

As the Redskins groom rookie Dwayne Haskins, it’s apparent that Keenum may well be on to his sixth team in the near future. He is playing out a one-year deal. After throwing an average of 41 passes in the first three games, Keenum has attempted an average of 18.5 passes in two games since Jay Gruden was fired.
