It’s hard to imagine Juan Soto is just 20 years of age, because he is already such a big time player. With his team trailing 2-1, Soto got on top of a fast ball from Gerrit Cole, driving it opposite field over the wall to tie Game 1 of the World Series at 2-2.
Soto becomes the fourth-youngest player to homer in the World Series. He has been cemented in the cleanup spot for the Nationals. And as Joe Buck said, he just cleaned up.
As the most-tenured National, Ryan Zimmerman, hit a solo blast in the second for Washington’s first World Series run, the future of the franchise, Soto, led off the fourth with a blast of his own.
