On paper the Washington Redskins are overmatched against the 5-2 Minnesota Vikings. However, forcing turnovers is a great equalizer and that’s what the Redskins defense was able to do so.
Kirk Cousins found Stefon Diggs wide open on what would have be a major gain in Redskins’ territory, but the hustle of Daron Payne and rookie linebacker Cole Holcomb forced a fumble from Diggs.
The Redskins offense took over. Unfortunately, Vikings defensive end Daniel Hunter got around the edge, stripping the football from Redskins quarterback Case Keenum. Shamar Stephen recovered for the Vikings.
It was certainly a missed opportunity for the Redskins to gain early momentum. Any positives cannot be matched by negatives for a Redskins team that is a 16.5-point underdog against Minnesota.
