Juan Soto crushed an upper-deck home run blast to give the Washington Nationals a 3-2 lead in the fifth inning. Then the 21-year old phenom returned the favor to Alex Bregman, carrying his bat to first base before dropping it off.
It was an epic way to troll the Astros third baseman, who hit a solo home run in the first inning, carrying his bat while watching the ball sail.
Soto is young and full of energy. He has annoyed opposing pitchers and fans with his leg slide and crotch grab in the batter’s box throughout the postseason. Bregman at times has been equally annoying to opposing teams and fans.
But there is no doubt Soto relished in the legendary moment to one-up his counterpart. If the Nationals can hold up their lead to force a Game 7, Soto’s home run legend will only grow.
