When the Washington Redskins offense took the field to start Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions, left tackle Donald Penn was not on the field. Instead Geron Christian manned the blindside of quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

Redskins interim head coach Bill Callahan revealed Penn did not start due to a disciplinary issue, according to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington.

According to Finlay, Callahan declined to give details as to why. But the issue has been resolved.

Penn played 44 of the Redskins’ 60 offensive snaps. He also picked up an offensive holding penalty in the fourth quarter that negated a 14-yard run by running back Derrius Guice. Penn is tied for the team lead with nine penalties, according to NFL Penalties.
