There’s a real chance Dwayne Haskins could be the next Josh Rosen in terms of his team selecting another first-round quarterback a year being drafting.
His recently hired head coach Ron Rivera has been non-committed to Haskins. Meanwhile, Washington was slated to have meetings with top quarterback prospects LSU’s Joe Burrow and Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa.
ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper suggested Thursday the Redskins should draft a healthy quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with the No. 2 overall pick in next month’s NFL Draft. Friday, Michael Silver of NFL Network reported the Redskins’ have “very real” interest in drafting one of the top-two QB’s in this year’s draft with the second overall pick.
Then are hot takes such a Colin Cowherd’s and an outlandish rumor by Doug Gottlieb about Haskins’ reading a Redskins’ playbook.
Through all the reports and rumors it gets lost how Haskins has been affected. Friday, Haskins tweeted what seemingly was in response to all the speculation of his future with Redskins.
Haskins has no words in the tweet. Instead he chose the popular James Harden Gif of him rolling his eyes and walking away from a reporter.
Rivera has praised Haskins throughout despite not anointing him the franchise quarterback. Haskins has been active working out this offseason in hopes of proving himself to his new coach.
No one outside of probably Rosen can relate to what Dwayne Haskins is truly feeling with all the chatter. Hopefully, he can block the outside noise and remained focus on proving his doubters wrong with his approach and play.
