Stefon Diggs gets wish as Vikings trade WR to Bills for a haul of draft picks

The Minnesota Vikings are trading disgruntled wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills for a haul of four draft picks, including the Bills’ first-round pick in this year’s NFL Draft according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Diggs has thrown subtle shots for quite sometime about his unhappiness in Minnesota.

Now he is getting his wish granted, as he heads to the AFC East to pair with quarterback Josh Allen in Buffalo.

Diggs wasn’t the first major name wide receiver traded on the first day of league’s legal tampering period.

The Houston Texans traded Deandre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for most notably running back David Johnson.

The Vikings had signed former Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins to a two-year extension. Following that move and Hopkins’ deal, Diggs tweeted “It’s time for a new beginning.”

Diggs’ tweet prompted reaction around the league including from current Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins, however, it’s the Bills that land the talented wideout.

Diggs is coming off a season that seen his targets and receptions drop in a conservative offense that featured running back Dalvin Cook more. Yet, Diggs still managed a career-high 1,130 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

In five seasons with Minnesota, Diggs had 365 catches for 4,623 yards and 30 touchdowns. He enters Buffalo on the second year of a five-year, $72 million deal.

The talent is certainly there, but the Bills now will be face with making him happy.

To new beginnings!
