REPORT: Falcons tried trading for Redskins’ No. 2 pick

The Washington Redskins are doing their due diligence by listening to trade inquires for the No. 2 overall pick. According to Josina Anderson of ESPN, one team presented a “complete deal” to Washington.

According to FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer, the Atlanta Falcons tried their hand for the second overall pick, looking to draft Ohio State defensive end Chase Young, however, the Redskins are unwilling to seriously entertain trade offers.

The Redskins appear set on picking Young for themselves. It would take an astronomical offer to get Washington move out of the spot.

The Falcons currently hold the 16th overall pick in the first round. Presumably, that would be too far of a drop for the Redskins if they were to consider trading down.

As the Redskins kickstart the Ron Rivera era, they would need a valuable haul to be convinced trading down and passing on one of the best defensive prospects in draft history. Dropping outside of the top-10 may not be worth it for Washington.
