Vikings reportedly expressed ‘some interest’ in LT Trent Williams

The Minnesota Vikings have put a huge financial investment in quarterback Kirk Cousins. However, the team has struggled with protecting that investment’s blindside. That is why the Vikings have “some interest” in reuniting Cousins with his former left tackle Trent Williams, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

Williams is expected to be traded during this week’s NFL Draft after he and the Redskins appear at their wits’ end with each other. Williams and Cousins were teammates in Washington from 2012-2017 before Cousins’ exodus to Minnesota.

The Redskins reportedly been linked to the Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers regarding Williams, however, nothing has matured at the moment. That’s sure to change, but for things to heat up with the Vikings, the price must be right.

Despite struggles, GM Rick Spielman seems to be a fan of incumbent left tackle Riley Reiff.

Washington is seeking a high draft pick and the Vikings are entering the draft with 12 picks, including two first rounders.
