Redskins WR Cody Latimer Arrested on multiple charges, including Assault

Washington Redskins wide receiver Cody Latimer was arrested Saturday morning in Colorado, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

Police responded to calls of shots being fired inside an apartment roughly five miles from the Broncos’ practice facility.

Latimer booked on multiple charges — assault in the second degree, menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, prohibited use of a weapon and reckless endangerment, according to the Douglas County Sheriff.

He is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Latimer signed a one-year deal with the Redskins this offseason after playing the previous two seasons with the New York Giants. He was drafted and played four seasons with the Denver Broncos.

The Redskins released a statement in response to the Latimer’s arrest, according to The Athletic’s Ben Standig.

“We are aware of the situation and have informed the NFL League Office. We will continue to gather more information and have no further comment at this time.”

Latimer is a solid special teams player, who had a career-high 24 catches, 300 yards and two receiving touchdowns last season with the Giants. He is expected to be a contributor on special teams and depth at receiver for the Redskins.
