Report: Dan Snyder releases employees from nondisclosure agreements for investigation

The NFL is taking over the investigation into allegations of sexual harassment and sexual misconduct against the Washington Football Team. Washington owner Dan Snyder (along with his wife Tanya) released a statement claiming Snyder suggested the league take over the the third-party investigation.

Now, Snyder is going another step further to aid the Beth Wilkinson’s investigation. According to the Washington Post, Snyder has told the NFL he will release current and former employees from their nondisclosure agreements for the sole purpose of the investigation.

“I think that will be extremely helpful in making employees and former employees come forward and share their experiences with the investigators,” attorney Lisa Banks told the Post. Banks’ firm represents more than a dozen of former Washington Football Team employees.

Banks along with her partner Debra Katz have called on NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for the league to launch its own investigation; suspend Snyder while the investigation was ongoing with commitment of ownership removal if findings support allegations; and direct Snyder to release employees from their NDA’s.

Snyder retained Wilkinson’s firm to look into the team’s culture following allegations of sexual misconduct and sexual harassment from 40 female employees in two Washington Post reports. Wilkinson will now report her findings to the NFL.
