Watch: Trea Turner hits two-run inside-the-park home run

The Washington Nationals’ streak of 20 scoreless innings came to a dramatic end. Shortstop Trea Turner put the Nationals on the board for the first time since Aug. 31 with an inside-the-park home run in the third inning off Phillies starter Zach Eflin.

Trailing 2-0, Turner hit the ball off the scoreboard in right-center field. The ball was just out of the reach of Phillies center fielder Roman Quinn. Turner then displayed his blazing speed, turning on the jets as he round to second.

The inside-the-park run also scored Luis Garcia to tie the game at 2-2.

Despite going hitless in his last seven at-bats, Turner entered the game with an NL-leading .358 batting average and 1.028 OPS. He started the game with an infield single in the first before his two-run homer.
