Washington reportedly intends to sign TE Temarrick Hemingway to practice squad

The Washington Football Team appears to be adding to their practice squad. Washington intends on signing tight end Temarrick Hemingway to their practice squad, according to multiple reports.

Hemingway was released by the Carolina Panthers during final cuts on Sept. 5. He spent last season on their practice squad under then-head coach Ron Rivera.

Hemingway was a sixth-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 2016 out of South Carolina State. He played eight games for the Rams as a rookie. After missing the 2017 season with a fractured fibula, he landed on the Denver Broncos practice squad in 2018. He eventually appeared in five games that season for Denver.

He has played primarily on special teams throughout his career with 186 special teams snaps compared to 18 offensive snaps.

Washington is currently has a max of 17 players on the practice squad. Thus, they’ll have to make a room for Hemingway with a corresponding transaction.
