Fans aren’t allowed inside MLB ballparks this season, but one Washington Nationals fan made sure Bryce Harper could hear his boos loud and clear.
Setting up shop from a nearby rooftop, the fan took in Tuesday’s doubleheader to cheer on the Nationals and boo Harper. His boos could be heard on the MASN broadcast, as Harper walked into the batter’s box in the third inning of the first game.
Harper was once adored by Nationals fans for seven seasons. But the 2015 NL MVP left the club last year in free agency for their NL East rivals, the Philadelphia Phillies. He has since become one of the more loathed players by Nationals fans.
As for the game, Bryce Harper went 0-for-2 with a walk and strikeout. He also had a costly fielding error later in the third that led to two scored runs. The Nationals won the first game of the doubleheader 5-1.
