Watch: John Wall looks good in 5-on-5 pick-up game

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, John Wall’s comeback season from a ruptured Achilles has been put on hold. The 2020 NBA Finals are ongoing in a time the league should be playing its preseason ahead the 2020-21 season. Instead, the Washington Wizards guard is forced to continue his training and getting his runs in pick-up games.

Wall has rehabbed and trained relentlessly the past year with hopes of leading the Wizards on the court again. In addition to him throwing down 360 dunks, another glimpse of Wall’s progress surfaced in a video courtesy of Ball is Life:

In the highlight clip, Wall is attacking the basket, dropping dimes and shooting jumpers well. What’s most important is his movement and bounce. He hasn’t played in an NBA game since December 2018 due to his Achilles injury.

However, he is expected to return at the start of the next NBA season (whenever that is). Commissioner Adam Silver said his “best guess” is the season won’t start before January 2021.

Nonetheless, the Wizards will welcome their five-time All-Star back. Without Wall, Washington has failed to make the playoffs each of the last two seasons, including a 25-47 finish this season after going 1-7 in the Orlando bubble.
