Washington Football Team to allow about 3,000 fans for Week 9 vs. Giants

The Washington Football Team will allow approximately 3,000 fans inside their home stadium of FedEx Field for their Week 9 game against the New York Giants. Tickets for the Nov. 8 game will be made available to select season ticket holders, the team announced.

Washington will host the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday at home. They plan to allow a couple of hundred of family members and friend of players, coaches and staff members to that game, as they did in Week 5 against the Los Angeles Rams. However, the team is choosing to wait until after their bye week to start letting general fans inside. Tickets for the Giants’ game will be made available starting Oct. 27 for lower level seats and some suites.

The team’s decision comes after Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced outdoor sporting events could allow fans to attend up to a 10% capacity. According to Hogan’s executive order, Washington could allow roughly 8,000 fans.

Yet, Washington has to adhere to stricter protocols of Prince George’s County, Maryland in which FedEx Field is located. The county caps large gatherings to 3,250 people, team president Jason Wright previously noted.

The Baltimore Ravens, who also play their home games in the state of Maryland, announced they’ll allow about 6,600 fans for their Nov. 1 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
