The Washington Football Team defense put them on the board first against their NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys with a safety. Strong safety Landon Collins blitzed off the weak side and got to Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton, stripping the ball away.
The ball bounced into the end zone before tight end Dalton Schultz recovered the ball. But the defense swarmed on him to get the safety.
The sack was Collins second on the year. He has now forced six fumbles in his six-year career.
Collins has faced criticism for his struggles this season with tackle and pass coverage. However, his critics are surely momentarily pleased with the veteran’s effort, as his strip sack leads to early two points for Washington.
