Jon Bostic fined $12k for hit on Andy Dalton

Washington linebacker Jon Bostic was fined $12,000 for his hit on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton last week, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Bostic hit Dalton after the quarterback had already committed to giving himself up by sliding. Dalton was knocked out of the game by the hit. He briefly lay motionless on the field before being attended to by trainers. Bostic was immediately ejected from the game.

Washington head coach Ron Rivera apologized to Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy for Bostic’s hit.

With the fine, Bostic avoids a suspension for the illegal hit.

Dalton remains in the concussion protocol and has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Seventh-round rookie Ben DiNucci will start in his place against the Eagles at quarterback.
