Washington signs Chase Roullier to four-year extension

The Washington Football Team signed center Chase Roullier to a four-year extension. The team made the official announcement Saturday.

The four-year deal is worth $40.5 million, with $19 million fully guaranteed according to Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post.

Roullier was a sixth-round pick of Washington in 2017 out of the University of Wyoming. His rookie contract was set to expire at the end of this season. Now, he avoids free agency by Washington locking him up for an additional four years through 2024.

“Chase has been a steady presence and leader on our offensive line all season. He is a great teammate and does everything the right way,” Washington head coach Ron Rivera said in a statement. “We are glad to be able to reward a player who has spent his entire career here. He was well deserving of an extension, and I look forward to continuing to coach him as we work towards sustained success here in Washington.”

Roullier has appeared in 58 games, starting 52 throughout his career. He initially started seven games as a rookie in place of injured Spencer Long. After Long left the team in free agency, Roullier became the permanent starter at center, starting all 16 games in 2018 and 14 in 2019. This season, Roullier has played every offensive snap.
