Washington Football Team parts ways with three scouts

The Washington Football Team has let go three team scouts, according to Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post. The dismissals include assistant director of pro personnel/advance coordinator Jeff Scott, national scout Cole Spencer and personnel coordinator/pro scout Brian Zeches.

The partings are part of Washington’s continued overhaul of their front office. Popular VP of player personnel Kyle Smith has also parted ways with the team. Smith is joining the Atlanta Falcons in the same role he held in Washington.

Washington hired Martin Mayhew as general manager and Marty Hurney as executive vice president of football/player personnel last week. Both will report to head coach Ron Rivera, who has been asserted as the lead of the organization’s football operations.

Scott joined Washington in 2012. Spencer had been with the team since 2010 and Zeches since 2014.

Washington enters this offseason fresh off their first NFC East division title since 2015. They have a solid young core on defense led by Chase Young. However, their top priority will be addressing the quarterback situation. Washington currently holds the No. 19 pick in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft.
