Bradley Beal makes history with 17th straight game with 25 or more points

Bradley Beal scored a game-high 32 points to lead the Washington Wizards over the Miami Heat 103-100. Beal surpassed Michael Jordan for the most consecutive games with 25 or more points to begin a season since the NBA/ABA merger.

Beal has been on a tear this season, leading the NBA with 34.8 points per game. He’s done so despite the struggles of his team. With the win Washington improves to 5-13 on the season.

“It’s pretty cool, it’s a remarkable achievement,” Beal said on surpassing Jordan, per Fred Katz of The Athletic. “It’s not something you always shoot for, but it’s amazing to just hear those stats that we come up with in our game. To pass him, it’s always a great feeling. It’s always something you always kinda put in your accolades, but at the same time, it felt even better getting a win.”

It’s a much better accomplishment than he set last week with the most consecutive losses scoring 40 or more points in NBA history. The 27-year old has emerged as one of the league’s best scorers even while his team struggles for wins.
