NFL denies report investigation recommends Dan Snyder sell Washington Football Team

The National Football League denies a report the results of a league investigation recommended majority owner Dan Snyder sell the Washington Football Team.

106.7 the Fan’s Sports Junkies shared they had received details of attorney Beth Wilkinson’s investigation into sexual harassment and misconduct surrounding the Washington Football Team. According to Sports Junkies, the 130-page report recommended the league to force Snyder to “divest his ownership of the team.”

If the league does not choose to force a sale than it recommends a prolonged suspension of Snyder.

“Absolutely false,” a league spokesperson stated, per The Washington Post’s Mark Maske. “We have received no such report.”

Last month during the Super Bowl, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell did say the investigation was nearing completion. Surely, the NFL would deny any findings without an official announcement.

The investigation stems from a series of reports by The Washington Post last summer, sharing detailed accounts from more than a dozen female employees accusing Washington executives of sexual harassment and misconduct. Wilkinson was tabbed to direct the investigation. The NFL ultimately took over, requesting Wilkinson report her findings directly to the league.

Dan Snyder has owned the Washington Football Team since 1999. Criticism of his ownership has existed for decades based on poor play on the field by the team and countless PR nightmares off the field. The latest string of negative publicity that’s included sexual harassment and behavioral misconduct within the team’s cheerleading program, has strengthen the cries for him to sell the team.
