De’Aaron Fox upstaged Russell Westbrook with a clutch jumper to lift the Sacramento Kings past the Washington Wizards 121-119.
With the game tied, Fox got the matchup he wanted against NBA leading scorer Bradley Beal. Fox created enough separation to drain the go-ahead jumper over Beal with 0.7 seconds remaining.
Westbrook had tied the game with a driving layup. Yet, there was just over 22 seconds left on the clock. Too much time for Fox to answer.
Following Fox’s clutch shot, the Wizards had an opportunity to respond with 0.7 seconds remaining after a timeout. Unfortunately, they never got the opportunity, as Westbrook sailed the inbound pass past his teammate out of bounds.
Fox finished with a team-high 28 points and seven-assists. He added five a game-high five steals. Meanwhile, Westbrook recorded his 12th triple-double of the season. Westbrook had 26 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. However, he had a game-high six turnovers.
The Wizards are now 14-25. They’ve now lost six of their last seven, including five in a row. The Kings are 16-24 and winners of their last three games.
