The NBA’s leading scorer Bradley Beal revealed he suffered more than just a hip contusion when he crashed to the floor during a Mar. 27 game against the Detroit Pistons. The Washington Wizards star said he is dealing with a nerve issue.
The medical term for his issue is meralgia paresthetica, Beal said.
“The swelling and the inflammation from the fall compressed on the nerve and that was shooting sharp pains down my leg the last week and a half,” Beal revealed.
Beal returned to the court Wednesday after missing five games with the hip injury. He scored 26 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the field to lead the Wizards to a 131-116 win over the Orlando Magic.
While Beal gutted it out and delivered per usual. He is still day-to-day.
The Wizards begin a four-game swing on the West coast Friday at the Golden State Warriors. There is still concern for him moving forward, especially when nerves are involved. Hopefully, he won’t have any lingering effects.
The Wizards surely need him in the lineup, as they are 1-7 without Beal this season.
