Russell Westbrook collected his 21st triple-double of the season against the Golden State Warriors with 19 points, 14 rebounds and 14 assists. However, the Washington Wizards point guard could have added to his assists total. Unfortunately, his Washington Wizards teammate botch three dimes on consecutive possessions.
Three straight offensive trips, Westbrook knifed through the Warriors defense before dropping a gift to his teammates. They missed all three layup attempts.
The comical sequence laminated the struggles of the team throughout this season. Despite great effort, the Wizards have found ways not to win consistently this season. Given his competitiveness, Westbrook presumably was frustrated by his team’s inability to finish at the rim.
Fortunately, the Wizards were able to overcome their series of blunders to pull off the win Friday night. Bradley Beal hit a clutch four-point play with 6.1 seconds remaining to lift Washington over Golden State 110-107.
